de origen inglés que proviene de la contracción de fan kingdom (reino o
mundo de los aficionados) y que se refiere al conjunto de aficionados a
algún pasatiempo, persona o fenómeno en particular.
Cabe aclarar
que el término fandom se asocia más con los aficionados a la ciencia
ficción o a la literatura fantástica. También se suele aplicar este
término a las comunidades en Internet que discuten temas relacionados
con el tema de su afición.
Los detractores de este tipo de
aficionados suelen mencionar que el fandom restringe el círculo de
amistades de los integrantes, al hacerlos sentir que los únicos que
entenderán sus preferencias y con los que vale la pena relacionarse,
son personas embebidas en el tema de su pasatiempo.

Fandom

a subculture composed by like-minded fans (aficionados) characterized
by a feeling of closeness to others who share the same interest
(Thorne&Bruner 2006). Such a community of keen aficionados can
share a common interest in a wide selection of phenomena, such as

En
mi particular punto de vista podemos compartir el gusto por
series/libros distintas (Saint Seiya, Gravitation, Loveless, Harry
Potter, etc.) sin embargo eso es en general, ya en lo particular cada
quién tiene gustos diferentes y por eso surgen fictions y fanarts tan
diversos que pueden llegar a chocar con los gustos de otro fan de la
misma serie/libro/película, sin embargo hay que ser tolerantes ant los
gustos de los demás.
A mí no me gusta el angst sin embargo he
llegado a leer fics muy buenos de este género y otros que no me han
gustado nada, no por eso me voy a dedicar a escupir juicios a la
ligera. El respeto a los gustos ajenos es el inicio y mantenimiento de
una fandom grande y lo más sano posible.
